Telemedicine

Integrate telemedicine into your herd management
Although telemedicine is already widely used in many veterinary practices, DSAHR’s telemedicine tool goes a step further by centralizing exchanges between the practitioner and the producer quickly and securely in a user-friendly, intuitive interface.
The telemedicine tool also keeps a history of discussions and photos shared over time, and has been developed to meet professional record-keeping standards.
Benefits for producers
- A free tool that integrates all your communications with your veterinarian
- Keeps a history of consultations over time
- Allows you to view your invoices directly from your cell phone
Benefits for practitioners
- Seamless integration with the Vet-Expert billing system simplifies administrative management
- Centralized exchanges keep track of discussions and photos shared over time, and have been developed to meet professional record-keeping standards.
The telemedicine tool is free for all users of the new version of Vet-Expert, and can be accessed via the software’s mobile application. From here, practitioners will be able to manage access for producers with whom they wish to practise telemedicine.
How a telemedicine consultation works
Available on Android and iOS, the app improves the efficiency of exchanges by inviting producers to fill in a brief questionnaire about the animal justifying the teleconsultation. This enables the veterinarian to determine the seriousness of a case at a glance. Communications can then be initiated via messages and photos. At the end of the telemedicine session, the veterinarian prepares a case summary and treatment recommendations, which are forwarded to the producer and remain available for future reference. This type of archiving enables veterinarians to meet their professional standards of practice, while maintaining a history that gives producers rapid access to previous consultations.

Integrating telemedicine
The telemedicine tool aims to improve the supply of veterinary services in Quebec and implement solutions to optimize and better structure exchanges between veterinarians and producers, while maximizing the practitioner’s work efficiency.
This service is available free of charge to producers with a valid client-veterinarian-patient relationship, and training in its deployment and correct use is subsidized for producers with an NIM.
